‘Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.’ – Albert Einstein
New Years resolutions are a great idea.
They don’t work.
I’ve seen the Resolutionaries pack the gym in early January…
Only to be gone by mid January. Getting into shape isn’t quite as easy as a Hollywood montage would suggest.
Nor is my yearly resolution to be a calmer, nicer person. I’ve made this one forever. And every year all it takes is someone cutting me off, or saying ‘Friends’ is better than ‘Seinfeld’ and BAM… try again next year.
So here’s a list of things I’m going to accomplish this year. I’m not resolving. I’m stating. As fact.
‘I am’ beats ‘I’m going to’ 10 times out of 10.
- 100 consecutive days of no processed sugar.
- 100 consecutive days of yoga.
- Eat clean.
- Kettle bell/TRX/band work 3 days a week.
- Run a 2:35 marathon.
- Post daily on Social Media.
- THINK ONLY POSITIVE THOUGHTS.
- Write a book.
- Revamp my website.
- Serve my clientele better.
- Read 50 books.
- Meditate daily.
- Help as many people as I can.
- Make more money than last year.
There’s probably more that I’m forgetting right now.
I know, it’s a lot.
How can I possibly accomplish everything?
By embracing physics. By embracing energy.
Something in that quote up there rings true to me. I can feel it. This is my code. My mantra. My mission statement. My resolution for 2019 is to prove this quote right.
And to do it won’t even require a lab coat or even my intro to Physical Science text book from freshman year.
I’m going to create more energy by…
Eating well: better fuel will create better energy.
Sleeping well: adequate rest will sustain energy.
Exercising: energy begets energy.
Focusing: Make sure the goals remain the goals.
All right- time to get off my heels. Stop responding to what life throws at me, get up on my toes and dictate where I’m going.
Here’s to 2019. Now off to work!
First up: 100 days of daily yoga.
100 days of no processed sugar.
And while I’m at it… be a calmer, nicer person.
